- Demystifying Data Donation Methods to Advance Digital Health Research
Thriving Youth in a Digital Environment (TYDE)
Connecting the EdTech Research EcoSystem (CERES)
University of Virginia
Zoom
October 25, 2025
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
“Curious about teens’ digital lives? There’s a better way than guessing. Ask them directly and let them share their data with you.
Join TYDE and CERES for a free, intensive virtual workshop designed for researchers working at the intersection of digital technology and mental health.
The workshop will provide training in many aspects of research involving data donation, including guidance on ethical issues to consider (e.g., IRB, consent, privacy protections & data storage), how to center youth perspectives on datasharing, logistics of data collection, cleaning and analyses, along with issues to consider when working with structurally marginalized communities. We will also provide opportunities for University of Virginia & UC Irvine researchers to obtain consulting support after the workshop to help with their data donation projects.”
