Charlotte Burks (she/her) is a fourth year undergraduate at Stanford majoring in Communication and co-terming in Environmental Communication. Charlotte first became involved with The Change Lab in summer of 2026, studying within-person relations among daily physical health, sleep, and perceived control through the Stanford PsychSummer program. She will spend the 2026-2027 school year pursuing her honors thesis project with The Change Lab, studying the efficacy of short-form video as a method of climate communication on social media.

When she’s not researching science communication academically, Charlotte enjoys being both behind and in front of the camera making science communication material for the Stanford Natural Capital Alliance and her Substack. She is also desk editor for The Stanford Daily’s Science and Technology desk. Her writing has appeared in Grist, the Peninsula Press, Fresnoland, and The Stanford Daily. Long-term, Charlotte hopes to tell stories — whether through writing, video, or another medium — that bring people together by fostering empathy and bridging gaps in understanding.
